The Oak Knoll Produce Market was established on November 8, 2008, as an outreach ministry of St. Cuthbert’s Episcopal Church and Church Without Walls (American Baptist) to serve low income seniors and families living in East Oakland, the Oak Knoll area and the Hwy 580 corridor.
The Oak Knoll Produce Market Coop is subsidized by Episcopal Senior Communities’ (ESC) outreach program. Episcopal Senior Communities currently subsidizes 12 markets throughout Northern California— from Oakland to Richmond. Proceeds from the Oak Knoll Produce Market return to the ESC general food coop fund which funds all of the 12 produce markets in the area. |
